Coin Wallet

A compact coin wallet designed during a study-abroad semester in Berlin. The brief was relatively open-ended — improve everyday life in Berlin. The result is a minimal, pocket-friendly form that separates coins from cards and keeps both accessible without bulk.

Context

A compact coin wallet rethought from the ground up — a minimal, pocket-friendly form that separates coins from cards without adding bulk.

  • Brief

An open-ended brief — to improve everyday life in Berlin, Germany. When I first arrived, I struggled a lot to get used to the more valuable coins.

  • Form concept

Developed a minimal, pocket-friendly form that organizes coins and cards into two distinct accessible zones without increasing its footprint.

  • Prototyping

Iterated the form through hands-on model-making to refine proportions, material feel and the ease of one-handed access — testing at each stage against real pocket and carry conditions.

  • Context

Completed as part of my 2012 Design Studio course during the study-abroad semester in Berlin.
