Incubator

Concept development and feature ideation for incubators and infant warmers, in collaboration with Highland Design Farm for a large international healthcare brand.

Neonatal care environments leave no margin for error. The design challenge was to balance form and function, to create a versatile device which stands up to the rigors of the safety standards required for premature infants.

Context

Every access point, adjustment mechanism and surface had to serve clinical precision without slowing the caregiver down.

  • Clinical research

Studied neonatal care environments to map where existing incubator and warmer designs create barriers for caregivers during critical moments — from access constraints to adjustment complexity under pressure.

  • Concept generation

Generated multiple concept directions addressing usability gaps — focusing on access, adjustment and ergonomic interaction within the constrained physical and procedural demands of neonatal care spaces.

  • Feature ideation

Defined new product features that improve caregiver workflows while meeting the stringent safety, hygiene and regulatory requirements inherent to neonatal clinical environments.

  • Collaboration

Worked with Highland Design Farm to deliver structured concept proposals for a large international healthcare brand — contributing throughout concept development and design documentation.
